Just don’t drive angry. I saw The Avengers (a.k.a. Hulk 3) so that could have been part of the inspiration I suppose.
Next week I’ll be in England so I’ll have to leave you with a bit of filler art.

There’s 2 questions I get asked every time I talk to someone who hasn’t seen my moustache before: “how long does it take to grow?” and “How do you make it keep its shape?”. While those are quite easy to answer, there’s more to growing and maintaining a handlebar moustache. But you have to start somewhere, so here’s my quick-start guide.
Now, someone else may have his prefered way and there’s more I could expand upon, but this should get one started.
When I started with mine, I found the best information on the Man’s Face Stuff product pages, at GAFBO and by just trying things out.

Well if I turn into that guy, at least I still have my hair.

Thought I’d try something new this week.
There’s a nice blog called Six Word Premise, where (as the title suggests) they post these neat ideas you can use.
So instead of coming up with a concept for a comic myself, I used 3 of theirs.
To expand on the experiment I also tried to get the ideas across in as few panels as possible.
With comics being sequential, 2 panels would be the minimum requirement.

So that happened a couple weeks ago…
There was more, but I didn’t want to make it a 2-pager. The guy wasn’t aggressive, just a bit out ‘off’. He also sang along with the music there and danced a bit in front of a mirror.

On that note, we say goodbye to our bird friends. When I started this story 10 months ago, I didn’t think it would become this big journey but I had fun making it. I hope you enjoyed my try at long-form storytelling & fantasy as well and thank you for following along & not bitching about me trying out something different.

As for what’s next for Beardfluff, I can tell you there’s lots yet to come. I have some 1-pagers coming up and ideas for more stories (1 that’s more facial hair oriented) but nothing quite as long as this one just yet. This story is getting bundled as a book (after some editing and corrections) and I’ll be doing a redesign of the website if I can find the time.
Let’s see, what else? Oh, there are a few comic conventions I’ll be attending in the UK. Comica comiket the 21st of April and London MCM Expo the 25th to 27th of May.

So stay tuned and come back next week for more Beardfluff, I’ll just keep on going wherever it takes me.

I’m *this* close to finishing actual comic pages, I promise. The next comic update will be 2 weeks from now. I just finished a talk thingy for work, so I can get on with inking and coloring.

For now, I hope you can enjoy this bit of fan art I made of the Scott Pilgrim comic by Bryan Lee O’Malley. It’s a slightly younger Ramona Flowers as Little Red Riding Hood.

(Anyone who can find the link between that particular fairy tale and Scott Pilgrim gets 10 points and a postcard.)

The answer was: Ellen Page.

Scott Pilgrim is played by Michael Cera, who played alongside Ellen Page in ‘Juno’. Ellen Page also plays the main character in ‘Hard Candy’, a movie which used Red Riding Hood as a theme (allbeit somewhat accidental, according to the makers) and turns it on its head. Go watch it if you haven’t.

I was out of the country for a bit, but luckily, I found you a filler comic, courtesy of Brussels Airlines. (I didn’t steal it, just took a picture on the plane.)
I’m not sure what to make of the alien baby though.
